  • From our cellar. Held since release. Quite impressive bottling of this varietal mix of Tempranillo and Cab Sav from Washington. Very smooth, with dark cherries and blackberries, mineral, licorice, earthiness and a little funk. Heavy bodied yet elegant. Very fresh, drinking very well at this stage. A little shy on the nose and a bit quicker on the finish than I normally like but still an excellent wine. So far we've liked all the wines we've had from this producer. Drink now or continue to hold for 3-5 years.

  • Well we like this one. The nose carries a scent that is herbacious, even grassy. The palate is treated to a jammy wild blueberries and boysenberry tartness. A leathery end as the quaff ends nicely. What a creative wine.

  • Three flights of awesome (My house): Tasted next to the Impulsivo from Cayuse that is also made from Tempranillo grapes from the En Chamberlin vineyard. This one was clearly beaten by the Impulsivo, no question! It is still a good wine though!

Lots of olives, terroir, come of the cauyse funk, but lacking the punch and depth needed to balance out these notes. Still a good wine, but I'd rather drink it on its own!

  • Notes from day 2.
    Dark purple in color.
Nose of dark cherries, olive, some saddle leather, little spice.
Palate of dark cherry, plum, little licorice, black olive, tobacco, ash.
The finish was average in length, but more balanced than I anticipated.
Overall the wine is a nice drink, really like the nose and the palate isn't too OTT.

  • Notes from day 2. Dark purple to red in color. Nose of black cherry, dark berries, olive, and a little earth. On the palate there was dark plum, black olive, with some funky cedar, little tobacco, and smoke. Finish is above average in length and its decent balance and not hot. Improved a lot since yesterday when it was too tight and too much olive. Hold. 50+5+12+17+8 (Wife's notes as I am just getting over a head cold).
