Friday evening "Bring what you want" (Kevin and Vicki's house): I believe this was slow O'd for about an hour. Vibrant, rich fruity nose. Orange rind, cranberry, sweet baking space. This wine really commands attention. The nose is slightly nicer than the palate, but the palate is no slouch either.

Last Minute Friday WTDS (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Medium red with light bricking on the margin. Splash double decanted and served immediately. Drank 2 glasses over 2 hours. This was beautiful tonight. I'd sat on this last bottle for about 6 years. The first one was good, but clearly youthful and there was more in store. Like most the '07's this has some longevity in store for it if there are bottles out there. I was mesmerized by the nose and palate. Exotic perfume of dried roses, potpourri, orange peel, orange, red fruits, damp earth and dried spice. The palate delivers the nose in spades, exotic, light-medium body, elegant, perfumed, pretty red berry fruits, crushed flowers, delicate wood and cedar, integrated tannins and a very long finish. This ranks right up there with the '07 Justice and would be fun to have with an '07 White Rose. Evolution is a good thing.

This become friendlier earlier than I expected. Starting to move into a very nice drinking window. Aromatics are showing flowers, spice and darker red fruits. The oak is nicely mixed. The wine is clean and fresh. The finish has a little bitterness when tried without food.

Drank over two nights, with and without food. Medium to dark maroon color. Thin, fast forming legs. A very lively, energetic and vibrant nose - sour cherries, a little oak and some wet earth. All of this energy carries over to the initial palate. There's lots of acidity, yet there's also well-concentrated fruit that shows up on the back palate and helps balance everything. Great food wine (I paired it with sushi and it actually worked rather well). A little thin on the finish. A well-made bottle that showcases many of the nice aspects of the '07 vintage.
