Despite the producer and appellation, this is ready to drink. Oaky nose, medium-light dry cherry and leather palate, fishing with some dusty but very smooth tannins and medium-short length. You always hope a second label can approach the producers first, but as a Pontet-Canet fan, this doesn't even come close. Still, a very nice wine to drink when you don't want to realize the cost of the first label and still have that Bordeaux experience.
