Better than previous bottle. Colour still deep. Nose ripe but not overripe Syrah, some liquorice and leather. Reasonable focus. Good mouthfeel with some structure. Cooler than last bottle but some background heat. Just lacks energy. Good.

deep colour, hot and coarse on nose and no definition. Sorted itself out a bit with time but still hot and became slightly pruney. Hot and alcoholic on palate, lot of weight but no finesse. second day it had come together more. Still hot but a little more balance.

From memory. Intense fruit toward plum, kirsch spectrum. Balanced and fresh on the palate though glad my last bottle since I think its as good as it gets.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #041; Syrah/Shiraz (By me): Slightly garnet red. Elegant bouquet. Eucalypyus. Earthy, black cherries, bloody, minerals. Soft juicy and elegant in the taste as well with friendly bitterness and good acidity. In the early stage of maturity. Will be very pleasant the from now to the next 3+ years.

Medium purple. Moderately intense nose of smoke, licorice, black cherry, plum, with a hint of creosote, olives, dried herbs (garrique). Nose is a little alcohol affected. Low acid though still fresh, medium body, excellent rich and dense mid-palate, slightly astringent, bitter tannins, slightly warm medium-long finish. Held up very well for a number of hours. I think there is enough fruit to age. Enjoyed with a 30-day dry aged sirloin steak from Cumbrae's for my Birthday/Father's day.
