Musique & Vin Paulée Musicale BYO Dinner (Château de Meursault): Small glass, brief note. Bottle in great condition.Ripe red and black fruit, fully mature but complex spice notes throughout. Keeps going with sneaky great length and textures. Was this Roumier Musigny?

This bottle was in great shape and showed excellent intensity with aged flavors of charred Cherrywood and decayed forest floor. Really succulent and complex on the finish with notes of old flowers and autumnal spices. A real treat to drink an old Burgundy with life left in it. At Ai Fiori.

Someone at dinner put it best: "I can't drink this, I just want to nose f**k it all night." Clear ruby red in the glass with an incredible bouquet of sweet coffee grounds, leathers, and drying red cherry. Fully mature on the palate, more or less perfectly mature red cherry fruit, red cedar, more leathers, mushrooms, and rich soil. Alongside a '52 and a '78 this actually seemed a little young and ultra clean. A very reputable guest even suggested it could be a forged bottle. Tremendous in any case and who knows what they were doing in Burgundy fresh off WWII...

Real velvet glove stuff. Red fruited and silky smooth. Amazing nose and still really put together. A significant amount of sediment so maybe could have been even better. Held together perfectly over the hour I had it in my glass. wow and another great Ponnelle. In St. Louis at Niche for Favre A Palooza.

Duos, Trios and Quartets Among Friends (Ai Fiori Restaurant, NYC): A bit disjointed at first but then came together. Beautiful nose. A bit of a sour note on the finish. Still very alive
