2016 Wine & Food Society of La Jolla Holiday Gala (The Lodge at Torrey Pines, La Jolla, CA): This medium yellow/gold wine offers an attractive core of pit fruits, citrus, apple and wet stones. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic and with nicely integrated alcohol, it adds a dollop of oak which is nicely proportioned. Dense on the mid-palate and lengthy on the finish, this is a quality Chardonnay that is aging gracefully. Drink now-2020.

Delicious wine with notes of pink grapefruit, Meyer lemon, quince, apple blossom, light cream, vanilla bean, unobtrusive light oak. Similar on the palate, medium-full body, balanced, crisp and fresh, pleasant acidity.

The last of 6 bottles and the third note with consistent impressions over nearly six years. Still drinking well, and will probably hold steady for another 3-5 years. Firm with a slate flint impression showing pineapple, pear, and melon. Faint lemon lime. Really a bit surprised with the lack of change from the two prior notes.

Straw gold color;marzipan, almond nose; similar almond flavors, very tertiary flavors, not flabby but no crisp apple or citrus notes I expect from medium age Forman's; medium body slightly fat feel and soft fairly fast finish. Hopefully it's the vintage, not a change in Ric's style. But not what I look to Forman to do 7 yrs out from the vintage. Will not be reloading this one.

Not quite two years after last note, this remains a shale flinty firm offering drinking well. While the flint firmness is the predominate trait, the fruit is firm tropics of under ripe pear, pineapple, honeydew, apple and lemon.
