Oxidized, but not undrinkable. Nowhere close to as good as on release. Pre-mox strikes again. Waited too long with the expectation of classic white Burgundy being able to age well. No score given because it is flawed at this point and wouldn't reflect the original quality of the wine. But, at 16 years old, I'd probably give it something in the range of 83. Pretty good, but not where it should be.

(Blind tasting) Full, deep, oaky and toasty nose. Gun-powder minerality. Very rich and noble. Mineral notes helps overcome the quite oaky style. Fullish, fresh and powerful taste. At the same time elegant in a way only white Burg can manage. Oaky, nutty with loads of yellow orchard fruit. Long, nutty finish. Most nutty and powerful of the five whites tasted at the same occasion. Very good now. We guessed on 1er Cru from Puligny.

Wines While Watching the Cubs Win the Pennant (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): An odd wine tonight. Seemed a little oaky still and unusually ripe, even showing a surprising hint of sweetness I found odd. I don't recall ever tasting this exact wine before, but not consistent with what I typically find from this wine from this producer in most vintages.

It seems a little oaky at first but really gets into gear after being in the glass for a while. It has complex aromatics of citrus blossom, toast, white peach and citrus. It has good shape in the mouth with a fruit sweet heart and excellent mineral line. Length of flavour is impressive.

A bit short in the finish.
