Shockingly bright for a 2003, this shows quite a bit of fruit richness, but also good palate definition and lift. I would not age this very long, as it shows more evolved fruit than I would expect from an only 12 year old vintage, but it is delicious now.

Perhaps Champagne handled 2003 better than everywhere else, as this is the second 2003 Champagne that I have really enjoyed in less than a week. The wine is focused and refreshing, with ample fruit and also a cleansing finish that invites sip after sip. Very fine.

June 2009 Michael Skurnik Wine Event, New York (Tribeca Grill, NY): Light lemon color. Reticent nose of brioche and marzipan. Closed on the palate, with a touch of sweetness, although no RS. Medium bodied. Clearly there's something there. May have been overly chilled.
