  • Although wine varies from bottle to bottle, the 2008 Jadot Chassagne, accorded expiration dates of 2018 by CellarTracker and 2020 by Wine-Seacher, as still alive, albeit mature. As another reviewer stated, it had evolved to a beautiful golden hue in the glass. It is not as fruity as some would prefer, but I still find some peach and butterscotch in its profile. It is very aromatic, like many Jadot White Burgundies, and, given its age, is rare on the domestic market. I found three bottles of this vintage in a liquor store in the Ocean City region of NJ. Even with a short lifespan left, at $49, an uncovered treasure. Based on what I enjoyed in the glass, the $49 was well spent.

  • shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with past due drink by dates. hard to believe that seven years have gone by since purchase and one year since previous taste. such a vivid memories of previous encounters with this wine. this bottle was much the same as the last one. the wine continued to show well although the color was somewhat golden and the fruit is receding. although still enjoyable, in hindsight it might have been preferable to enjoy this bottle in its youth when peach and apricot fruit notes were more pronounced.

  • good but not great, OK value for $47 but not something i will go looking for, balance of minerals, a touch of oak, and some fruit, but just not exciting this time, tried because i have had such great luck with 2008's
