Ordered a case just for the hell of it. We had it in 2004 and liked it. I was pretty sure it is half-gone by now. Not at all. Nice smokey leathery wine. For the 7 euros more than a steal.

Last of five. Somewhat "turned off" if compared to other bottles. But Rivola still remains a very interesting wine from Abadia Retuerta. This 88 should not contribute the the average scoring of this wine

This Rivola not at rhe same level as the others. Enticing nose and somehow the palate too, but acidity is unbalanced and the overall sensation is that this bottle is not as pleasant as the others. A matter of cellaring, no doubt

Cork was completely saturated but no wine seeped out. Undercapsule was mostly corroded with a bad smell at the very beginning driving me thinking it was flaw. Not indeed at all . Cork came out fairly intact with my Monopole bell corkscrew. Decanted in my 75cl baloon and immediately ready-to-drink with smoothed tannins. Acidity almost gone but it's ok. Oak is somehow still there with smoky dry spices. Herbal notes, forest and undergrowth. Medium-to-long finish.Very interesting. A little bit over the cliff but pehaps enjoyable over the next two years. Best bottle out of the last three. The day after improves its "maturity". Great

Second bottle out of five, completely different from the first. Decanted in my 1L baloon and immediately ready-to-drink. Plums immediately run out of the bottle. Ruby with some garnet reflections- Uncommon hints of flowers. Milk chocolate and candies,. Smoothed tannins make it juicy, with clear ripe plum in the nose and on the palate. Uncommon soft bitter-sweet aftertaste. Drink now or in a year at the latest. Second day : cabernet sauvignon emerges clear and superb
