  • A Smashing Beaucastel with Delas , Ducru Beau and a Doisy (Chateau Ehrlich): Elegant and resolved, this doesn’t scream Syrah, although its typicity was classic Northern Rhone. As it came to temperature, it had nice subtle notes of Barnyard that paired well with its restrained but distinctly lush nose. Integrated and complete with fully rounded tannins. This wine was in its second prime, a period I’d call where it shows best after its full integration (first prime is its best showing in its primary, tannic phase).

Burgundian in its palate presence, a wine of great elegance and sophistication. Clocking in light at 12.5%, this wine is simply classy. Ali put it best: “Ooh, I like this”
