I have worked through almost all of T-L's line from 1999-2001 and this is probably the weakest effort. This has continued its slow decline since I last checked in with this 3-4 years ago. Color remains opaque with bricking on the margins. Some black cherries on the nose but subdued; the black pepper is prominent. In the mouth, spice remains the major impression with some stewed plums, a bit of prune. Acid and a bit of alcoholic heat are the lasting impression on the finish. This wasn't great before and is worse with time. I do dig T-L's wine from 10-15 years ago even though they aren't exactly classic examples of the various regions. This one, however, has not been a winner for me.

FLI's tasting notes are bang on in my opinion. I didn't enjoy the wine as much as I was expecting. It was certainly interesting but I actually prefer the 2000 Minervois from T-L.

A bit lighter in color than I expected - almost like a pinot. Similarly, light body with a touch of acidity. Great flavor profile - predominantly old leather, smoke and a bit of that barnyard funk, along with berries and pepper.

Dark garnet red. Very low toned earthy complexity with charred game, then surprisingly tangy after such a low toned nose, with a compressed feel that smooths out over a couple days' worth of air.
