Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Purposely not rated, this wine came in last in a 3-white wine tasting where one was a Chard from Australia and the other a S. Blanc from N.Z. The concensus was that the taste of alcohol predominately. Of course, pure alcohol has little or no taste. I actually think it was the complexity of this 4-grape blend that confused my wife and guests. I think this wine could perhaps benefit from 2-4 years in the cellar. I have read that these wines were often cellared in the bottle for up to 10 years. Five years ago I started putting up complex French whites for aging and most of the results have been very rewarding. If you are still developing your ability to project a wine's taste 3-15 years out this one will be a challenge. I don't see it as "dinner tonight". At $15/bottle you will want to evaluate the sophistication of your pallette. No food pairing recommendation at this time. See the experts for discussion and recommendation of semi-classic Southern Rhone whites.
