Just misses the mark somehow, and I'm not so confident about future cellar life either.

The nose is very much of a different character to the shirazes; pure dry cassis with a herbaceous touch is right in the classic cabernet spectrum. Fine iron-like tannins mark it as a wine of stature and emphasise the structural aspect which is the dominant feature of a quite shy wine in the absence of any development. One to hold.
