I agree with my tasting note of one year ago, this wine still tasting good !! This wine's acidity works great with food. A perfect cork after over a decade in the bottle. I consumed this bottle over the course of two days. This Pinot Noir was fairly balanced showing more fruit on the first day and more focused on day two. Dark ruby color with little to no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of pomegranate, rose hips, and cranberry. Flavors of spiced cherry and tart strawberry with a medium acidic finish. This wine needed extra time to mature, patience is rewarded again. This flavorful Pinot Noir may have another year of life left. Great fruit from the Clos Pepe estate in the Santa Rita Hills appellation of Santa Barbara County. Good winemaking by Wes Hagen. In 2016, owners Steve and Cathy Pepe decided to lease the Clos Pepe Vineyards to Hall/Walt Wines of St. Helena, who expects to honor existing contracts for 15 years.

Tastes pretty good with food. A perfect cork after a decade in the bottle. I consumed this bottle over the course of two days. This Pinot Noir was fairly balanced showing more fruit on the first day and had snarpened on day two. Deep ruby color with little to no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of pomegranate, rose hips, and cranberry. Flavors of spiced cherry and tart strawberry with a medium acidic finish. This wine needed extra time to open and requires food. This flavorful Pinot Noir may have a few more years of life left.

Definitely aging well and somewhere in between early fruitiness and secondary flavors. Solid acidity and little to no browning. Still rather bright and totally new world in a Cali sunshine way. Paired surprisingly well with smoked pork, cheddar, bbq burgers.

Didn't get any formal notes on this bottle but my impressions were positive in that it is aging well. I didn't sense any browning or old bones features impacting the wine yet, nor had it lost any of the acidity. In a good place and aging in a slow, even way.

(Clos Pepe Estate Pinot Noir Vigneron Select) Medium cherry red color with pale meniscus; oak with char, cherry nose; creamy textured, oak, tart cherry, tart red fruit, rhubarb palate; medium finish (the oak should integrate with time)
