Tasted blind. Beautiful sweet golden yellow. Honey and blossoms with a little toast and background minerality. Possibly a German or Austrian wine? but the bottle shape doesn't match. Turns out no one thought Australia. Monocepage of semillon. Fascinating and a real revelation.

Grand Crew Bellingham raids my cellar; Huet, Rhys, Ceritas, Breton, Charvin, VT and others (Bellingham, WA): Jenise brought this. Blind, took a long time for anyone to guess the grape, and I don't think anyone came close to guessing the location (although I believe Patricia may have said NZ at one point). Golden yellow, smoky white fruited nose, lots of life left and very enjoyable, this made me confront my prejudice against Aussie wines.
