  • Every bit as fabulous as when tasted 4 months ago, though showed much more meatiness this time around, and less of the already muted cherry. If you had told me it was Cote-Rotie I might have believed you. Still awesome, and drinking the last of this was a great way to get into the Christmas spirit.

  • My favorite wine in a lineup of wonderful and eclectic wines. Incredibly dusty on the nose...blew off to reveal layers and layers of elegant complexity, a truly classic old school burgundy and a prime example of what happens when everything goes right. Faded a tad to be sure but in a glamorous and not at all disappointing way. Nice cherry on the nose and palate, but oh my, that terroir formidable! Herbs, dried mushrooms, dirt...the classic stinky-ass combo that great burgundy has in spades. I will remember this wine for a long, long time. Thanks Kenneth.

  • Fare Thee Well, Lounge (My House): Cork pulled about half an hour before pouring. Elegant with a capital E, a prototype for what Burgundy can and should be. Slight funk in the process of blowing off when poured, some leather, mushroom, muted cherry candy notes, thyme. Simply stunning in it's balance and poise. With the duck, beyond words. One of the top food and wine combos of my life. Many thanks to Kenneth for contributing this.
