Well here it is 2010 and this wine still holds flavor and experience. There’s some vinyl on the opening, but it waves off after breathing to reveal great old Cal Cab aromas. The body is fading in complexity, but not in concentration of flavor; full bodied still, with dark and full cedar and earth tinged currant and blueberry, and a very present finish of plum and eucalyptus. Absolutely fascinating despite its age and mature flavor. And to think the cork on this seemed compromised (soaked through).

A better experience with this bottle. Much richer and well balanced, changing beautifully throughout the evening. Let this bottle sit upright for several days before opening. Strong cedar, pine, herbs, and some shades of blueberry. Consistent with last notes, though flavors showed off better this time.

Not very complex, but elegant in its simplicity and smooth texture. Not a tannin left standing, but fruit and character from oak leave an austere, deep flavored aged red. Heavy toasted Cedar, blueberry, and pine. Think it will fade from here on out, given how it tasted upon opening and changed throughout the evening.
