  VEO Amsterdam, Barolo (Restaurant Domenica Amsterdam): Great delineation, still in its early stage of development. Beside the wonderful 1997 this wine could even be better in some years from now. Dark and powerful with complex (but closed) bouquet and palate. Try again in 5 years.

  Roberto Voerzio Tasting (Vino Italiano Waltham): Wow; really quite arresting. Such a gorgeous cherry perfume, so pure and deep. Rose, spice, tar accents. Layers upon layers in the nose. My hand spent so much time holding the glass it did not take enough notes, but the wine was compelling.

  Better than bottle tried before. Classic Barolo nose of wet wood, tar, flowers with some cherry thrown in the mix - tiny whisp of VA. Still tons of tannins at 12 years - great concentration and juicy fruit - cherries. Give 5 more years.
