Breathtaking. Subtle, ripe, feminine. Gentle in its complexity and utterly moving.
This has the stuff to thread the needle for… 5 years? 15? And there’s a reasonable chance it will get even more ethereal. But it’s a dream today so I'd drink now with 2 hours' aeration.

This wine is drinking beautifully right now- and goes great with a grilled veal chop and pasta primavera (all the veggies and herbs from the garden)- purchased a few years ago from Sotheby’s retail at $107 per bottle (a steal)... ruby in color, lots of raspberries, herbs and a touch of tarragon and tar... the tannins are integrating well but a tiny bit chalky at this point - leading to savory, mouthwatering long finish. A lovely wine that should improve over the next 8-10 years...

"Single" Bottle SLDS @ Glass: Blueberry, liquorice, red cherry and spice. Polished palate with glossy fruit and a clean fruit profile. It does of course have more time to go before peaking, but it is okay to drink now as well.

2018 Heritage Blind Wine Challenge (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. The real giveaway in this wine for me was the tannic structure on the palate, coupled with the acidity, which had me going straight to Barolo. The nose wasn't as nice, as this seemed to be contaminated by an extreme amount of VA. There was a slight bit of stewiness, and it was either a richer, riper wine, or an older incarnation of a Barolo Boys wine. I guessed 1989 Sandrone Cannubi (which in hindsight probably wasn't the best guess as the fruit profile here was a little redder than Sandrone). As a postscript, this tasted far, far older than what it actually was. I'm wondering if this bottle was cooked, for if it were sound, this is trash-tier wine.

Heritage 2018 Blind Wine Tasting Challenge - Chicago "Regional" (Heritage Gallery - Chicago IL): Double blind. I am completely perplexed here. Ripe black and red fruit with modern styled spice and a hint of menthol. Very pretty and well balanced. I got no signs of Piedmont here.
