  • Nice medium bodied pinot. Lovely Bouquet of pepper and floral notes. Not a fruit driven wine but this makes a refreshing change from the fruit driven central Otago pinot I favour.. Spice and pepper with a nice smooth finish with a hint of red fruit. Nice uniquely styled pinot.

  • Light garnet/brick red
Nose: medium plus intensity, dark, spicy fruits: dark sour cherries, plums, earth, savoury, raspberries, hints lemongrass and mineral.
Palate: medium plus intensity, savoury, stalky, spice, dark sour cherries, earthy, raspberries, blackberries.
Medium body, long length, high acidity.
Intensely flavoured, concentrated dark, spicy fruits, savoury and stalky with high acidity.
Wine is still too young to drink with the intense acidity not integrated into the wine yet.
Maybe decanting is an option to mellow the wine down.
    Re-taste in another few years.
Wine can cellar for another decade at least.
A nice Pinot but a little too dark for my liking.

  • 10x20 Victorian Tasting (Customs House, Sydney, Australia): Cherry, raspberry, some violets and stalks. The palate is nicely balanced between savoury and spice notes with some plush fruit. Good length, this is a good wine and should develop well over the medium term.

  • Consumed with Christmas dinner. Overpowering strawberry nose which followed through onto the palate. Unfortunately, this both dominated everything else and was of a strawberry skittles vain rather than of freshly picked strawberries. It washed down the christmas dinner well but I could have done that with a lot of $15 dollar wines rather than the $50 or so this cost. Blown away by the Giant Steps Yarra Valley Pinot Noir I had a months ago at a similar price point.

  • The 08 Reserve is a wine that has real class, the nose is restrained with dark cherry, the palate shows excellent oak integration, that gives the wine a wonderful mouthfeel, with good complexity throughout the palate coming from the dark cherry and plum fruit that integrates well as the subtle spice. The finish is long and complex, and lingers in the mouth.
