  • Popped and poured. Med/dark garnet/brick. Elegant nose with tea, coffee roast, leather, earthyness and obvious volatile acidity. Signs of oxidation. Medium-bodied with firm tannins and balancing acidity. Long afyertaste. Absolutely drinkable and enjoyable despite the oxidation. The regular Brunello di Montalcino from the same vintage I had about a month ago was in a better condition.

  • Drank at dinner (La Vista) with Mike amd Betty Ann Klebec after a nice Chablis that Mike brought. Retained a dark red color that was fading to tawny. Beautiful nose of cooked fruit and a bit of the barn yard. Tastes of dark fruit, leather, meat and spice (hard to name). Long finish with well integrated but still present tannins. Very enjoyable, reminded me of an '89 Vega Sicilia Unica that I had recently in its overall feel. Ran into Madiah Revana of REVANA Wines at dinner he said that he and Heidi will be making a Cab/Syrah blend this year - can't wait to try it.
