  • Fragrant nose with flavors of tropical fruit, apricot, guava, and anis. Nice, fresh acidity with minerals and ripe peach flavors on the palate. Long finish. Great, perfectly aged Riesling. Drinking quite well, but I'm not sure how much longer I would hold this despite the freshness on the palate.

  • What a beauty! Still quite lively on the palate, dry and full-bodied for a Riesling with a lengthy finish. Unfortunately, I believe this is my last bottle - given the way it tastes tonight, I'd love to still have a case in the cellar.

  • A deep bronze/gold in the glass; this wine is not for everybody, but I do find this both fascinating and delicious. Trying an aged example of a wine like this, I can definitely understand why some folks say that Austrian Riesling is really the only true substitute for grand cru white Burgundy.

Full-bodied for a white, expansive and rich on the palate, quite dry and a touch less acidity than I might normally prefer, but honestly, I don't think I would change anything about the way this wine drinks tonight, as it has come together as one complete and harmonious package.

  • Golden colored in the glass; tropical fruits on the nose (pineapple?), with a slate note in the background.

Seamless on the palate, although there is a slight alcoholic note that detracts a bit. A little sweet & sour interplay with the fruits on the palate. Nicely balanced and a good showing given the vintage.
