  • FWSG Puligny Grand Cru vs Meursault Genevrieres tasting. Semi-blind. Double samples. Tasted in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow lemon colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, shy medium- to medium intensity, with aromas of stony minerality, chalk, citrus lemon peel. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of citrus lemon peel and pulp, lime, chalky, wet stones minerality. Mouth-watering long finish.
Very good quality. Initially a little austere, but intensity builds up with air. I love the acidity and tension here. Still very fresh for something 14 years old. Could age more, but not sure to what end as my friend Asparagus says. For a domaine with a premox rep, it would be wiser to drink up sooner.
Perhaps I am just over-rating this based on my liking of the acid tension.

  • Honeyed nose, quite advanced and thin.

  • Have to say quite a disappointment. Not at all sure why Mikulski wines command such high prices. Perhaps a bit too subtle for me. Great white Burgundies should have different flavours at different times in the mouth. Cannot say I could detect any evolution here.

  • Weisses Burgund vs. Alpenländische Chardonnays: 3 Stunden dekantiert...
Whow! Mittleres Goldgelb.

  • Thin, light, some citrus and minerality but under par for this vineyard. Can't believe it will improve much
