One of those rare animals: an under $40 red burgundy with class. Very burgundian nose and tons of pretty red and blue fruit. The tannic structure is a little soft but the acid is strong enough to hold the fruit in perfect balance. Delicious.

Translucent crimson on the glass. Very pure tone; nice balance of minerality and red fruit: a slow sipper to be enjoyed with light food or on its own. Very young but enjoyable at the moment.

Lite garnet red. Raspberries with a touch of vanilla on the nose. Notes of sour strawberries, vanilla, and black pepper. Opens with promise for further development, but does not follow through. A tad overly bitter for my liking, but pleasant enough.

Medium-light color, body, texture and flavor; feeble midpalate and finish, especially for Givry; on the lame side of uninspiring. Next!

Tasted at winery. Typical Salomon. Average vintage IMHO. Seems quite classic in style and drinking now but I might keep it another few years.
