2007 Burgundy, round 2 (Noize): Killer Burgundy - probably a touch richer and spicier than a stereotypical Volnay, but it really worked. Felt completely a point, and perfect with the duck.

Medium dark garnet color, a whiff of ripe crushed fruit on the nose, followed by earthier notes; medium body, somewhat lean but flavorful dark cherry/raspberry fruit, with fine but noticeable tannins, and a slight tart dried cherry finish. All in all, quite consistent with the vintage, enjoyable if not memorable, probably drunk too early by several years at least - though I wonder if the fruit will dry out and the tartness take over with time.

Nice wine but had an acetone note that lingered which was alittle off putting. Still has plenty of life left would love to revisit in 5yrs.

Cherries on the nose. Good balance of fruit and acidity. Very soft tannin. Very good today
