Some Wine Tasted at the Zachys Auction (Formento's - Chicago IL): Small glass. Great nose of black cherry and berry, sweet spice and earth. Unmistakably Leroy perfumed aromas comes across as very Vosne, with palate a little more meaty showing some NSG character. Medium weight and depth with the right density for Villages wine, just less overall exciting overall than the wine's aromas.

Zachys auction at Formento's (Chicago, IL): The nose is quintessential Leroy, with that intense perfume, but the palate is where this wine falters. There's some Nuits earthiness here, but the lighter vintage doesn't do this any favours, as the wine feels a little emaciated on the palate. Some pleasant acidity and red fruit, but without the oomph that the nose promises.

A really beautiful wine. Classic Leroy aromatics. Red fruited with truffle, spice, incense and dried roses. Good structure. Extremely silky on the palate. Showing superbly on this occasion.

During a Confrerie 2007 BYO tasting dinner, so just short impressions. No surprise on the overall vintage performance, the 2007 are mostly light and harmless compared to better vintages. TN: Typical to Leroy, high intensity of aromas. Aromas of smoke, red fruit, spices. Palate a bit rustic.

Lovely on the palate although somewhat underwhelming on the nose. Difference between a GC/PC and this wine of course. Still - I will drink it any day of the week :)
