This wine's color showed it's age. I was concerned to decant it too much but gave it a 5 minute spin. Started off tasting a little flat but started waking up in the glass and the fruits started waking up. Last sip of the last glass was by far the best. Will definitely let bottle #2 decant longer!

Classic profile of ripe red fruit, roses, tar, spice and liquorice, with good acidity, fine tannin and very good length. The 2005 La Serra doesn’t have the complexity of the very best examples, and doesn’t possess the energy of great vintages, but it is refined and well-balanced, and a joy to drink. I would drink it now, with three to four hours aeration.

Quite superb, refined, detailed. Dried rose petals, minerlity and satisfying funky forest floor. Elegant across the palate, pretty tannins and ample length.

Had an itch for a Barolo that I needed to scratch. Chose this 2005. Dried cherries, leather, tar. Enjoyable.
