Very pale colour, orange/ red Nose smells a bit musty, then red fruit and spice Seems quite faded and delicate though also aromatic and fruity Very pretty, long finish. One to drink on its own I think and contemplate
This bottle, from the official Churchill importer, was in better shape than my last one (from an online auction) was.
Description however identical: 80% opaque brick red with still some nice delicate fruit. Alcohol certainly not overwhelming and hardly noticable on the nose.
Great to have such a port at a general store tasting!
Thanks Cees!
This time it showed a little better, with more fruit than the last bottle.

Despite the totally soaked cork, this wine came out really well. Decanted for 3 hours, 80% opaque brick red with still some nice delicate fruit. Alcohol certainly not overwhelming and hardly noticable on the nose. I don't think this one has another 20 years, but drinking between now and 10 years should still give lots of drinking pleasure!

leaker, cork soaked all the way up. "nyquil" was the most common descriptor. strong alcohol scent and flavor, clear ruby.
