I was really psyched to see this bottle come out because a magnum of the 1962 Marechaudes a couple years ago was one of the best bottles we've ever had here. Unfortunately this one wasn't in quite as great shape. Started out with some swimming pool scents that needed some air to blow off, then has some really nice fruit, berries and wild bramble, dense and gummy in texture and turning more exotic, then stony, with time in the glass. Not as complete or as powerful or as funky as that Marechaudes, but solid.

Solid for what it is (well stored 50+ year old Pinot). But it didn't really move me at all.
