  Classic aged Bordeaux-blend nose of blood, forest floor, cigar box. Nice fruit in the mid palate provides some lovely balance to the more savory flavors of mushroom, sous bois, and violets. There is a distinctive bitterness with the finish that detracts from the rest. The bitterness receded a bit with time, but the wine did not develop more complexity as a result.

  Made in a new world, fruit forward style. This had a lot of up front fruit, with flavors of cassis and plum. Nice midpalate. The finish was a little short. This was consumed alongside the 92 Delheim, which was wonderful. The 92 was probably made in a more elegant style. Not sure if this 99 will develop into what the 92 is today.
