Color: Deep ruby Nose: Lovely red fruit and vanilla. On the palate: Red meets black fruit. Medium to full bodied but not over the top like so many Cali Zins. The midpalate brings leather, graphite, black pepper and tobacco, the finish is simple and fruity with moderate soft tannins and latent plums. Very nice with Thanksgiving leftovers.

Nice solid mid-week wine. Ran it through the Decantus and got a very candy-like nose at first. This quickly dissipated and trended toward red fruit with oak present in the background. Restrained on the palate. Pretty smooth for such a young wine with red fruit, darker fruit, and a hint of creamy oak. I thought it had enough acidity to pair pretty well w/ food. We had it with an exceedingly simple red beans and rice and it did very well with the slight smokiness and spiciness present in the dish.

(Tratturri Primitivo di Salento) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-good red fruit; PALATE-Wow; I really like this wine; for $10 bones, this is a roaring value and is rocking my socks off; solid; well made; quite exceptional at the price point; GV-90

Decent with barbecue, though a bit more oak than fruit.

A good wine. Still had really good fruit flavors and a nice aroma. Bottle went fast which is always a good sign. Worth trying.

Uninspiring, one-dimensional and vapid. Not a good representation of Primitivo.
