Glass: Zalto DenkArt Universal Clear, glooming golden color. Intense, fully developed beautiful and complex nose of honey, bee wax, ripe yellow fruit, nuts (not oxidized) and herbs. This wine is certainly legally dry, but with a remarkable amount of residual sugar. But the sweetness fits perfectly into this wonderful Veltliner at its peak. This wine is baroque in the best way. It reminds me of some of Rubens Ladies: curvy but elegant and dainty. Full bodied, good acidity, complex and mouth coating aromas of honey, ripe apricot, salt, herbs. Long finish. It was a perfect companion to the heavy Wachau dinner we had and it even survived the fried Goose. At its peak but will stay there for some more years.
