  • I'm really bummed out this bottle didn't show as well as my last experience with this wine. The nose was all toasted oak, cantaloupe melon, and a touch oxidative. The palate showed an initial blue cheese quality I didn't remember in the past, but the rest of the flavors were really good. Spiced stewed pineapple, cantaloupe, pie apples. Very creamy mouthfeel and without the backing acidity I remember that made my last experience with this wine so special. It was delicious, don't get me wrong, I was just expecting a repeat.

  • Great nose on this, showing dried lemon and orange citrus, bread yeast and a hint of butterscotch, age definitely showing. The palate shows the butterscotch flavors along with the lemon fruit, baked apple, baking spice. Awesome weight and feel on the palate. Some pineapple and acid peek in as the wine is swallowed. The acidity here is very well balanced, carrying the fruit and rich flavors for 20-30 seconds in the finish. Overall, awesome. It's great to see this wine aging so well. 92+
