Similar impressions as the prior bottle from Nov 2012, and unsurprisingly the oak continues to dominate everything else here. I don't think this has gotten any worse, but neither has it improved and is likely into a gradual decline at this point.

brought to fiddleheads restaurant in jamesburg, n.j. shared with pat at the dinner table. i had shrimp and pat had mahi-mahi. the lesson to be learned here is that the winemaker was overly optimistic in projecting longevity. interestingly, the wine showed greater complexity when fully chilled than when closer to room temperature. perhaps exposure to air caused it to come apart. the wine continues to show remnants of characteristics as described by wine enthusiast. creamy texture wrapped around luscious butterscotch, melon and pear flavors with a toasty French oak veneer. however, there was an oxidative quality suggesting that we waited too long to enjoy this wine. perhaps this was the ginger mentioned by the winemaker overtaking other fruit components described by the wine maker. at this point, would have to think twice before buying again and if i did, would most likely be for early consumption.
