I have to admit that I looked at the price of this wine when I really should have been looking at the year. This wine is not ready to drink although when it is, I think it will be quite nice. Mostly heat on the nose. Pepper and jammy red fruits on the palate. Strong tannins to age for at least a few years. Decanting for a few hours has helped soften it a bit, but really, this probably shouldn't be touched for at least a year.

I almost feel like I'm drinking a barrel sample with this. The nose has a floral anise quality, and the palate follows; green peppercorn, thyme, wild flowers, under-ripe blackberries, black jelly bean and fennel fronds. Odd stuff. It's not ready for drinking.
Five days later, the palate softens and plumps up, with a touch of peppery, smoky dark fruit, and the green edge is gone. ...can't wait to see what time will bring.

Bright acidity; nose of pepper, anise, mint. Flavors of meat, green peppercorns, & lemons. Fascinating wine with a bit of everything.

Delicious. Primal, beef blood, good acidity. What a wine maker Yves is! $18 is a crazy value.

Nice, light bodied syrah; very herbaceous. I'm not sure if it's indicative of Cuilleron's style or the vintage, or both?
