First night notes. 14.1% a.b.v. Pop and pour. Medium maroon color. Medium legs. Pungent nose full of lots of black tea with a little licorice and orange peel in the background. Initial palate has pronounced tannins. However, this quickly transitions to a fleshy midpalate full of dark berry fruit. There's some acidity on the backpalate that corrals the fleshy midpalate. The fruit has nice concentration (midpalate), but at the same time it's elegant (backpalate and finish). A linear finish that shows a little alcoholic heat. Not a lot of complexity, but then again this is a entry-level bottle, and it was a good food wine. Tasty.

Medium red color. Aerated into glasses. Drank 1 glass over an hour and again on day two. The nose shows dust, cedar, spice, black cherry, cinnamon, and a little damp earth. The palate is consistent, maybe a little too much acid for the fruit. Prominent spice and wood on the finish. This was consistent on day 1 and 2, started to fall off on day 3.

Took a while to open...a bit lighter and less complex than I remember...some nice fruit and tannin on finish...not sure it'll get much better from waiting

Quite sporty for it's age. Don't hold it!

No formal notes. Quite ripe with darker pinot fruits. Didn't scream Oregon pinot to me. Two bottles consumed. Drink or hold. Good.
