  • 2000 jean-luc colombo la tuiliere crozes-hermitage

Color - a lighter ruby, very light compared 2 the syrahs I'm used 2.

Nose - beautiful rhone funk! A thick salty briny smell. Herbs up the yin yang. Lite Sage, dried chives, & some wood. Some smoke & licorice 2.

Palate - super smooth. Good acidity. A lil inky & all those herbs! Nice tang. There r some sour cherries but really not a ton of fruit 2 speak of. Getting some pepper & licorice on the finish 2.

Had this w/chicken saltumbocca which was a nice pair especially w/the fresh Sage that was on the saltumbocca!

I have 2 thank jahlove(from wltv forums) 4 turning me on 2 crozes - hermitage! Man I love this stuff.

This mite be just a touch over the hill but not much!

  • Probably drinking about peak. Nice dark colour, dark ripe blackberry and plummy fruit nose, notes of tar, anise, garrigue, very dark. Interesting but not persistent. Palate is medium bodied, pretty smooth tannins, juicy acidity, lots of dark cherry and plum fruit, maybe a little acidic, but generally pretty sweet and tasty. Definitely has a feral, bloody, gamey note to it on the finish that marks this as a Rhone wine, very interesting. CT tells me I have one left, not sure where it is, but I hope I have it.
