It smells more like dried roses or lavender than fruit. Gravy, beef jerky, spices, medium toast oak Feeling like a traditional producer, lack concentration Good acidity, mineral(08 vintage character) and slightly lean body Finish is good, but it is not a very special wine.

Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind Burgundy (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Small glass, tasted blind. Mostly red cherry aromas and flavors in a bright but lighter style that had me surprised it was Grand Cru. Re-tasted a few hours later with the same impression.

A classic burg, light not insubstantial, fruit centred and well structured. Ben Leroux wine dinner, 21 Feb 14, HK. Ben said 08 was a breeze to make.
