  • abbreviated tasting note from memory. Had this with some friends about a week ago.
Dark red, berry fruits, not quite ready to drink...
    Suggest drinking 2020-2025.

  • Last of my bottles. Consistent with previous bottle from a couple months ago. Decanted for an hour before drinking. Bouquet reluctantly emerged to show cherry, plum and some wood. Silky and elegant. Glad to see this wine drinking so well at this age.

  • Decanted for an hour before drinking. At first it was very closed and gave up very little. In the glass the bouquet gradually opened to reveal cherry and plum nicely balanced with some wood. Silky and elegantly understated. A very pleasant surprise for its age.

  • Opened this at an Oregon wine dinner at Bay Wolf with Dick Ponzi in attendance. Perfect cork and fill. Initially on opening this had a lovely complex floral nose but seemed short and a bit hot and out of balance on the finish. Over a couple of hours the palate integrated really nicely softening and putting on weight and this wine was really excellent. Much better than the last two bottles and an interesting echo of the 2011 Ponzi Reserve which was served in parallel.

  • Mature reserve Ponzi from the vintage that lit the fire for Willamette Valley Pinot
Noir. Slightly brown around the edges, this red still has fine structure and balance
featuring dried plum notes with brewed coffee and pretty sage. Held it's own over
a three day period, later developing clove, soft leather, and a hint of white pepper
with a drying, firm and lengthy finish with a touch of spice. Drink now
