  • another first for an old burg for me - the bottle, fill and color of the wine was superb, but the cork was black, fungating and smelled of fetid cheese - really awful. I tried to delicately remove the cork with the Durand and it came whole, but as the cork was squeezed, an opaque foul looking fluid came out and dribbled into the wine. I think the wine underneath would have been good, but that rancid cheesiness was in the background and rendered it undrinkable - sad.

  • now, this is a wine drinking beautifully, exactly what a mature burgundy should taste of... very brown anne slightly red color, depth of color thin and slightly fadein, wonderful nose, very present and strong, mushroom, fruit, flowers, stone, beautiful taste, not powerful but extremely elegant and refined, above all a telltale vosnes, purity, class and no angles...
