Same hint of rusticity as on the nose of the 02, earthy with vestiges of spicy dark fruit. No more than medium bodied on the palate, on the lean side but very much hanging in there, can still sense the tannins though they are pretty much integrated. Lovely acidity, not bad length either. Mellow and harmonious - very good for what it is.

Medium ruby garnet fades to garnet rim. An excellent developed bouquet and very typical of the cru. Nice bright red cherry fruit, spices, with a delicate gamey quality and some fleeting notes of chocolate and damp woods. Still quite fresh on the palate with a plenty of fruit remaining. Light to medium bodied and very fine tannins. The palate directly reflects the bouquet with decent length and an almost ethereal feeling. Really quite brilliant considering the vintage and the location. This is village wine after all, albeit from one of the better locations within the Savigny. Drinking beautifully and should hold for a few more years yet.

My last bottle. Not perhaps the most expressive example of the series, but still in pretty good shape. See previous note.
