One of the best red wines I've had all year. Lovely balance with very present minerals and acidity, ripe fruit, amazing secondaries, great length. A wine that really made us say "wow." Feels like it is at peak now but no sign of decline either.

Classic Loire cab franc from a good vintage and great producer. Dark, loaded with minerality and fine grained tannins. Ready now but should hold up well for several more years.

Loire Valley Wine Commission (The W Hotel, Chicago IL): nose: lovely and perfumed nose of red florals, violets, red berries, and herbs. Very good depth and fairly expressive at this stage, but still seeming to hold back a slight bit
taste: chewy tannins and a medium/full feel and medium acidity along with well balanced tones of red cherries, roasted herbs, red berries, violets, dill and bits of red florals. Excellent depth, but the tannins take over the back end a bit
overall: needs a couple more years, but it should turn out real nicely. Well balanced with excellent aromatics that just need some more layering to really show itself

Weekly tasting group RWP #341; Some random wines (@ My place): In the bouquet rustic flavors and forest floor. On the palate cherries, chocolate, autumn forest, beautiful acidity and tannin as well as a good length. 89 - 90

Textbook Loire CF. Iron, rocks and salty minerality on nose. Deep savory notes on palate. Wish I had more.
