Off the list a Rouge Tomate. The vines from the Morey-Saint-Denis grow above the Clos des Lambrays on a very lightly and marly soil. Beautiful nose with sappy pure ripe fruit, a little bit of cassis and dark cherry with earthy savory notes. Oak is still present, torrefaction notes on the nose and palate. After 2h in the glass, it becomes more integrated. A very balanced wine with weight on the mid palate but with a good acidity. Light floral notes. A little forward but should improve over the mid term.

BBR 2008 Burgundy tasting: Now I understand where the metalic elemnet in some of the other wines was coming from and where it was tring to get to. I'm still not utterly convinced by it, but I would be fascinated to try this again in a few years.

Not complex, not powerful, but what a lovely expression of Burgundian pinot noir! I enjoy this wine very much.

Thursday at Weygandt (Weygandt Wines, Cleveland Park, Washington D.C.): Great ruby color. Nose has beautiful round red florals, and red fruit with a pronounced lift of crushed rocks and spice. Palate exhibits bright red fruit - surprisingly round and approachable at this point.
