Second consecutive bottle I've had where the nose was quite reduced -- took a full day for the funk to blow off. Great mouthfeel on the palate and very approachable and Gevrey in character. Have had four bottles over the last year or so -- the last three have not drank nearly as well as the first I had. Very noticable bottle variation.

Wonderful nose of ripe but restrained red fruit, earth, animal fur, and saline. Red berries, a touch of pine, some lignified stems, and a long mineral streak on the palate. Simply exceptional balance, length, and acidity here. This easily drinks above its level and is very Gevrey in character. Another perfect example of power without weight. Drinking so beautifully now, I' m not sure I'd wait on this one -- my bottles likely will not last long. Always one of my favorite producers -- L-M knocked it out of the park in 2008. In sum, this is an outstanding Gevrey that I believe will even give many a 2008 grand cru a run for its money.
My wife thought this wine was a bit too "masculine" for her taste -- she is more of a Volnay/Chambolle gal, so she says. However, her comment was " but I keep going back to my glass for more -- clearly this is real good stuff".

Some bricking. Good nose. Fruit comes through after a long decant and early acids calm down. Better second day.a good wine.

Seemed over the hill. Seemed like it would have been quite good earlier, but it has lost its fruit and structure.

Not as good as the other bottles we’ve enjoyed. It’s now time to drink it up. The word that comes to mind is simple.
