  • very generously brought by the score whore, the wine was dark in color but mature rather than spent. needed to warm up to show. Get your white burgs out of the ice bucket guys!
    nose - butterscotch, honey
mouth - rich, custard, honey, as it warmed it tasted to me like that swirl of butter and honey that i get on the top of my toast when i really spread it back and fro. good bottle but not superb. probably a mediocre qpr.

  • Nothing wrong with this but darker slightly nutty, aging ok, but slight bitter nutty aspect, could be fresher but is a 2002 after all. DD at Crustacean. One of the least favs of the lineup that was fault free. DD at Crustacean.

  • Faint orange color. Concentrated nose, almost sappy, compact. Rolls into zested lemon, orange fruit, grilled almonds, torched sugar with hints of peppermint. Within minutes developing into a full and complete rendering of creme brulee.

Palate has some life with vanilla, honey, cream on the midpalate. The feeling of rich sweetness felt overpowering at times and deserves food to provide balance. I wish I could have also tasted this earlier in life, not out of disappointment for the experience I had, but to see the full arc of the wine's life.

Lemon, orange zest/bitters or anise on the long, gripping finish. Marmalade, tangerine. For all the citrus notes acid was pretty low.
