  • Mursteinsrød. Mørk sort kjerne. Orange i kanten. Kraftig lukt av solbær. Litt søtlig lukt og et hint av noe litt kunstig (neglelakkfjerner). Meget kraftig smak. Intens. Mørke bær. Saftig og bløt. Lang intens ettersmak. Godt integrerte tanniner.

  • Opened and poured, full nose and mouth, everything you'd expect from an Amarone. Long, silky finish, well balanced and fully integrated; nothing leaps out at you that isn't expected. Yes, there is definitely a hotness to the wine, but nothing you wouldn't expect. Drinking well now and should go for a few more years easily.

  • Another evidence of Veneto wines in general, and especially Amarone not being my cup.
Hot & oak infused & densely packed nose, with dark and brambly fruits, alcohol, oak spices, sweet dried figs and dates.
Palate is hot and alcoholic, disjointed, over oaked, full off cooked and over extracted sweet dark jammy fruit.
Plums, blackberry bramble, vanilla, raisins, sweet figs & dates, more vanilla hints, and more alcohol.
Overdone, and lacking all complexity & transparency.
More like a marmalade mixed in alcohol.
This is the way Amarone tastes, and shall taste, but not anything I appreciate.
Points as always given for my own reference, and all you Amarone lovers out there will most likely disagree with me on this, and rate this wine much higher.
But for me, this is just not good.

  • Big wine, compared to previous bottles the 'überintensity' has mellowed down. More integrated now, good tertiary flavours and aromas.

  • 16,5%... Sagt eigentlich schon alles...
