Ooh boy, a 35 year old Barolo. What can I say, I was not really expecting too much, and fortunately this did exceed my expectations. The colour was fantastic, a burnt orange, quite light. The nose was initially quite old (for want of a better word), I was afraid the wine had gone, but after an hour of air notes of iron and tar started emerging, very intriguing bouquet. On the palate this was not so impressive, very tertiary, a bit over the hill, but nevertheless very drinkable, very enjoyable. Still a tiny hint of tannins, but otherwise very smooth. Not much fruit left though. Given that I had this for dinner in delightful company (same vintage), I am not breaking down the score, just giving an overall experience (which pertains just to the wine) :-)
