Dark chocolate, leather, hint of tobacco - that was just the initial taste. Paired wonderfully with a filet. So miss the older days of Sequoia Grove. Just not the same now.

1hr plus decant and needed a lot more. Medium purple color. Awesome nose of graphite and dark cherries. Wine was extremely tannic and took hours to mellow. Cherries dominated the palate but the wine lacked depth and character. Medium finish. Pretty much as expected.

This was drunk over two days, and the experience was as described by others here: Pleasant but not impressive on the first day, significantly better on the second. On the first day, this showed camphor on the nose, with blackberry on the palate and notes of vanilla oak, cocoa, and leather on the medium finish, with moderate tannins and good acidity. On the second day this had filled out and become richer and more complex, showing blackberry, currant, plum, and notes of mocha, leather, and earth, with light tannins and good acidity on the medium to long finish. The Cellartracker drinking window on this is much too early - it will continue to improve for at least five years, and it should easily last for ten years or more.
