  This was pretty tired, but still a very interesting drink. Well stored bottles with perfect cork and mid-neck fill. Nose of brown sugar, some bell pepper, and spicy herbs. palate was smooth and round, little if any tannin left, tired but sweet fruit, repeating bell pepper notes. Finish rather short, mature fruit, hints of earth, and a tinny mineral note. A wine that bdx drinkers will appreciate-- not complex, past prime and needing to be drunk-- but still enjoyable and interesting for what it is.

  Most of these bottles have been somewhat past it, but still are okay aged claret. Tonight's was still splendid, so it serves as a benchmark, with its old library, tobacco, cedar, and still-vibrant fruit on the palate. For the money, I'd drink this every night of the year, with pious thanks.
